To the Ends of the Earth part 4: Loving Like Jesus

To get to the ends of the earth, you have to go through your own town. Reaching the people around us for Jesus is part of God's command to GO into all the world. So what does that look like? How does God want to go about that?

A main component to us being a people and a church on mission is having a heart for lost people. God's heart is that none should perish, and he wants us to do feel the same. So how do we develop this heart and what will it compel us to do?

In Romans 9, the apostle Paul talks about how he feels an obligation to those who have not heard the name of Jesus. We too should feel compelled in the same way. Some of us are not called to go, but we all can be senders for those that do go.

The last thing Jesus says to his disciples before leaving this earth is to go to all parts of the earth to tell others about him.
We are a church that is all about this mission! We want to reach people around us and on the other side of the world.

Dangerous Prayers part 3: Send Me

The final Dangerous Prayer that we are looking at comes from Isaiah chapter 6 where he prays, "Send me." What if we became completely surrendered to God to the point of going anywhere, anytime, to do anything He asks us to. This prayer could totally change the trajectory of your life...so get ready!

Dangerous Prayers part 2: Break Me

For our second Dangerous Prayer, "Break me", we looked at two stories about broken things from Mark 14. We asked the question: "What if praying safe prayers like 'Bless us' & 'Keep us safe' is the equivalent to praying 'Don't let me grow.'" We're looking at how, many times, we grow more when we are broken.

 

Dangerous Prayers part 1: Search Me

We are in the habit of praying safe prayers: "Bless me" "Help me" "Keep me safe." God wants us to go deeper - to be more dangerous with our prayers. 
Our first dangerous prayer, "Search me", is taken from King David's Psalm 139, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Prayer is the key… it’s the answer… it’s central to everything we do, everything we talk about. Central to our relationship with God – but specifically, central to living out our faith! This week we take a 30,000ft view of prayer throughout the Bible and how we can apply it to our lives.
